Artist. Writer. Herd Master. Librarian. Doomed.
Rachel Smith’s work centers on two things: guinea pigs and books. Her guinea pigs, in particular Danger Crumples, take major roles in her pop culture parodying paintings and prints- giving the world an idea of what things would look like if guinea pigs were just a bit more popular in pop culture.
Smith’s art and writing also celebrate irreverence on her blog, Guinea Pigs and Books, where she nearly reviews books, occasionally attempts to publicize her novels, and displays photographs of all the guinea pigs featured in her artwork that also control her very existence. It’s all for them.
